We have already begun planning our soap making calendar for spring. If you have any favorites, please let us know. Pleasing you makes us happy. During the winter solstice, we like to pause and look back at the year that is closing and forward to the one that is unfolding.
This year, the winter solstice falls on December 21 (unless you are in the Southern Hemisphere.) It is the day of the year with the fewest hours of daylight, and marks the beginning of winter. After the winter solstice, days start becoming longer and nights shorter as we move towards spring.
December 21st will be the shortest day in a very long, very dark year. The holidays are shaping up to be different from anything most of us have ever experienced in our lifetime. Many people have suffered unimaginable losses, yet we hold fast to what we have. The people we love, the people who take care of us, weddings, and children. Fire and light are traditional symbols of holiday celebrations. May your holidays light a spark of hope that in the coming year you may find strength, health, the love of family and friends and peace on earth.
