FAQ

Below are some FAQ about our soap and business. If your question isn’t answered here on this page please let us know!

1. Why are we sometimes out of stock?

We make each batch and bar of soap by hand. After we make a batch of soap, the soap has to cure, or sit for a minimum of 3 weeks. This means if you request more lavender soap after someone has cleaned out our stock, we can’t immediately replenish stock because the soap is still in the curing phase. However, we try our best to never be out of stock! You can always find updates on our products on Facebook and Instagram.

2. Is there lye in the soap?

Yes, of course there is! In fact, every single bar of soap contains lye, no matter where and who you buy it from. To make a bar of soap, it takes an acid also known as a fat, and an alkali which is the lye. The lye, also known as sodium hydroxide is mixed with the fats. The soap is then put through a saponification process and then set to cure for 3 to 4 weeks.

3. Why are all my soaps not the same size?

Like I mentioned above, we make each batch and bar of soap by hand. This also means that we pour and then cut each bar of soap by hand. When pouring soap into molds, it is impossible to be exact with our sizes. These are humans cutting your soap, not machines! We cut to make sure each bar of soap is around 4 oz, but some are bigger then that, so you just end up getting more soap for your money!

4. What makes your soap different?

Our soap is unique in that each bar is handmade without any special equipment or machines! We are a mother daughter company that is devoted to making soap that is both good for the skin, and good for the earth.

5. Do you make liquid soap?

yes we do! Check it out here!

6. Where is the soap made?

The soap is made in a house in the woods of Wisconsin. We make all our soap there, the soap cures there, and the soap is shipped from there. At some point in the future we may relocate to Minnesota, but for the time being the soap is made in Luck, Wisconsin!

7. Can I eat it?

Please don’t! Like any other soap, our soap is for external use only.

8. Does your soap have — in it?

We get questions a lot about whether beeswax, or a certain oil is in our product. Each product is unique and you can find the ingredients of each product on the website under the product description!

9. Is your soap vegan?

About 90% of our products are in fact vegan. There are some instances such as egg soap that we use things that animals make (eggs or honey). Otherwise all of our oils are vegetable based which means we use no animal by products to make our soap!
