As I write this, the autumn leaves are swirling past my window. Pumpkin spice tea sits in a steaming cup next to me. Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons and here, surrounded by trees, I am mesmerized by the colors and shapes of the leaves. This glorious display, a mixture of russet, amber, crimson, yellow and sepia, is the result of chemical
processes that happen in the trees as the seasons change.
Fall is nostalgic. Something shifts in me and it reminds me of happy memories from the past. Consequently, It makes me think of returning to school and the heavenly smell of new books, crisp air, and eating Halloween candy on the porch in a warm sweater, as a harvest moon rises in the night sky.
How We Celebrate Autumn
Most people celebrate fall by raking leaves or baking pumpkin pie. We just let the leaves collect in nice, crisp piles, and we celebrate by making soap together. Our pumpkin spice soap is gorgeously scented with cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg essential oils. There is no pure pumpkin essential oil, but this blend of oils, similar to the spices used in a pumpkin pie, smells just as delicious. The aroma just relaxes your muscles as you lather up in a warm shower or bath.
