Happy Yolk Soap: Egg Soap

Egg Soap

There is a story behind our featured  egg soap this month.

Where It Started

Happy Yolk Soap started with a restaurant. When I was young, around 8 or 9 years old, I liked to play pretend with my little brother, Dan. One night, after mom and dad had gone to bed, Dan and I came up with a magical idea to serve breakfast the next morning to our family. We prepared the menu that night, looking in the fridge and cabinets to see what we could serve. The next morning, we woke up very early knowing our parents woke up early. We had aprons on, menus in hand including children’s menus, and were ready to open our restaurant. We served our parents that morning, and any other brothers that happened to be awake when the restaurant was open.

The Restaurant

Dan and I had so much fun running a restaurant that we began serving breakfast periodically on the weekend when we were both bored. It was always planned the night before, after our parents went to bed, so they never really knew when the restaurant would be open. We had a piggy bank at the table for customers to pay for their breakfast.

Happy Yolks

Mom and Dad started asking what the restaurant’s name was. Shortly thereafter, one of the nights before Dan and I opened the restaurant while we were making menus, Dan and I brainstormed names for their restaurant. Dan had some funny names that would make others laugh, and I just kept bringing up eggs as that was my favorite food. Finally, it came to us, we liked the name, Happy Yolk. It included eggs, and talked about happiness. The next morning, Dan and I greeted our parents with our restaurant name on business cards. We were in business, and continued this restaurant for years, randomly opening when we wanted to.

As Dan and I grew up, the restaurant opened less and less, but the memories lasted forever. We will always remember the happy memories of Dan and the first Gower business, Happy Yolk.

Honoring Through Happy Yolk Egg Soap

With our business, Sweetie Pie Soaps, we wanted to honor Dan, and the original Gower family business, Happy Yolk. This Easter we have Happy Yolk Soap available for sale on our website and at the Maple Grove Art Center. This egg soap contains various moisturizing oils and eggs, but no fear it doesn’t smell like eggs!

Eggs are wonderful for your whole body, including your skin! Eggs have been known to minimize pores, and overall clear up the face. The large amount of protein, vitamins and fatty acids help your skill feel moisturized and smooth. With this in mind, consider buying some Happy Yolk Soap this year for yourself and your friends. Buy them for your Easter baskets so that everyone can have happy soft skin.
