We have been incredibly busy, making lots of soap and trying out new products in anticipation of the holidays and our upcoming craft show on December 10 in Stillwater. (Check our Facebook page later this month for more information.) Making soap is such a pleasure. Everything smells so good and we enjoy the shapes, colors and textures of the various soaps. When we were done, we stacked up some of the soap we had made and admired the results. Every soap is its own uniqueness. Every soap is an individual.
The soaps reminded us of bricks. These days, antique reclaimed bricks are a popular building material. Until the turn of the century, bricks were usually made by hand, which gave each brick a slightly different color or texture. Each brick had its own individual uniqueness. Later, bricks were mass produced and at that time, people preferred the more uniform look of factory produced bricks. But today, those early bricks are prized for their irregularities and their beauty.
Like those bricks, our soap is made by humans and we think the distinctive colors and textures make it beautiful. Every batch of soap looks a little different, because our soap isn’t made by machines. We hand craft every single batch of soap, and hand cut every single bar of soap. It is important to us that every individual bar is high quality. Uniqueness makes our soap beautiful, we hope you think so, too.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Susan & Liz
