It’s autumn and nature is calling. Our lives are so packed with technology, traffic, and tension. However, we can soothe our ragged spirits and find peace in nature. Research shows that spending 10 to 20 minutes a day outdoors can lead to less stress and increased well-being and happiness. In Japan, many people practice shinrin-yoku, which means “forest bathing.” It really just means spending time in nature – you don’t need to get in the bathtub.
In the Northern Hemisphere, fall officially arrives this year on September 22. At this time, there are approximately equal hours of daylight and darkness. From that point on, until the winter solstice, the days will get shorter and the nights longer. You also don’t have to find a heavily wooded area. You can spend time in a park, beach, trail, or any natural setting that makes you feel at peace. If you experience wonder and awe, so much the better.
This fall, we are featuring products with the fresh and woodsy scents of essential oils such as cedarwood, fir, pine, and sandalwood. Or, if you have the urge to visit an apple orchard, try a slice of our apple spice pie soap. These products usually go fast, so check our website for availability.
Where is your favorite place to enjoy nature? Happy autumn.
